Post conviction relief is a form of motion practice, filed in the court of original jurisdiction, that seeks to overturn a conviction. This is different than "expungement" or "sealing." It is a process whereby the very integrity of a conviction is upended, necessitating a "do over" in the law. There are numerous bases for relief.
